In the last couple of days, you were so excited in making mock up vehicle from cardboard. The idea came from Youtubre video that you watched, and the cardboard came from packaging of IKEA. There is so much excitement that, eventhough you cut your finger with cutter, that didn’t stop you from creating.
The same video that you watched also show a cardboard bus powered by battery. It has motor dc that allowed it to move around. That this has excite you so much that you asked Dad to buy and fix the motor DC for you. Plus, you want exactly the same setup, with power switch. However, there are no easy spare part to buy in online show or toy shop. While the power switch is avablable in electronic thrift store near home, the axle, tire and dc motor is not as easy to find.
It just happen that Dad used to buy a tire set for Arduino. The tire set come with motor DC for each tire, complete with transmission gear assembly. Inspired by the Youtube video, Dad started to assembly the tire.
The tire assembly was attached to the cardboard using glue gun, as in the sample video.
And finally the power switch and battery is attached to the side of the bus. Just in case you are wondering, the power switch was attached by you, using the same glue stick.
The first word that you said when we powered it on for the first time is: “Cool”. You also do some coloring for the light, using a light marker for board, which make the cardboard bus even more cooler.
It was 12PM at noon when we finish, but you can’t wait until evening to try it out. So, under a brightly hot sun, we walked outside to play with your new bus. We spent good amount of time with you as the shepherd of the cardboard bus, and Dad busy to take video. The result is the video below
Keep creating, Ethan!
