Playing Volcano

After the show of Playground of Bali last year, it seems that your interest in volcano is still flaming hot. First, you asked to go to see a volcano. Then, when mom bought you a volcano molding, you took it with high enthusiasm.

White Cement Mold

You and mom started with the molding process. Mom stirred the white cement provided, and together with you, pour the mixture into the molding. The instruction says that the mixture need 4 hours to harden, but the will need to wait for 24 hours before it is really hard and ready to be painted. And for that 24 hours, you repeatedly asked mom and dad, if the volcano is hard enough to be painted.

Volcano Painting

The next day the molding is hard enough for painting process. You merrily pull out all your paintings equipment, the palette and the brushes. Dad helped you to mix the paint to find the right color, and for almost an hour, you painted the whole volcano into charred red-brown color. And then come another waiting process before we can really play with the volcano. We need to wait until the paint dried up.

Playing with Volcano

The real moment of fun come after the paint has dried up. We set up the volcano in the garage to reduce the clean up, and lining up the needed ingredients: baking soda, vinegar and red food coloring. First, we put in the baking soda, then the red food coloring. And as the vinegar touched baking soda, it started to react, bubble, and spill over the top of the volcano. The red liquid started to drip along the slope. Below the slope, few cars was hit by the lava, and started to tumble.

And below is the video of the fun for the day.
